Natalie smiled and laid out on the sand, leaving the waves to Anna. "I don't think any of my friends would like to come down here. They'd be afraid to get sand under their nails." she laughed. "But I've heard that the La Push kids come here all the time. I'm sure you can make a date to camp out with them."

Anna's only answer was a shrug as she paddled back out to the waves. It was about a half and hour later when she came back in, and laid down on the sand staring up at the ever present clouds. She was breathing a bit fast, her cheeks flushed. She had forgotten about the cold after the first wave and didn't appear to be close to remembering it now. "This is great. When I turn 18 I am walking out of the house and I am going to come live on the beach for the rest of my life." Just like a kid to not think about how she was going to survive when that illustrious day arrived.
Rolling onto her side the looked at Natalie. "What do you want to be when you grow up?'

Natalie gave a warm smiled and looked over at Anna. She crossed her arms behind her head and seemed to be in deep thought. "I've always wanted to be a history teacher." she said, staring up at the clouds. "It's one of my best subjects and I love to teach." And I have lived through a few major historical events, she added mentally.

Anna couldn't help but wrinkle her nose. "A teacher? I don't know. I don't really like kids. I think I would be forced to reach out and touch one upside the head if it smarted off at me." She shrugged and then rolled onto her back looked up at the sky. "I always wanted to fly. I can't tell you how many times I watched my mom's copy of Top Gun and Iron Eagle. The only thing is that I just can't see myself in the Navy. I have a huge problem with authority." She shrugged a little self conscience. "I used to watch the birds on the beach back home, watching how their wings lifted them up. When I was kid I would dream I was a bird just so that I could fly far away, away from my mom, away from my life." She went quiet at that point, a little embarrassed that she had said all of that.

Natalie listened with a soft smile on her face. "You should go for it," she said, and then she too was silent for a moment. "You don't seem to like your mother much," she said, rolling her head to the side so she could see Anna.

She didn't look at the other girl as she answered, just continued to stare up at the cloudy sky. Her voice had a dead pan quality, as though she recited it rote. "I don't. It's had to like someone that you can't respect. All my life I have had a steady stream of "uncles" as she moves from man to man. They are all users...well actually she was the user. She has used her looks to move from one sugar daddy to the next, no matter what perverts they are. As long as they can keep her in fancy apartments and take her to fancy places she doesnt care what else they do. The last few were the worst, I would still be in juvie though if the last one hadn't agreed to get a lawyer." She snorted softly, a strangled sound to her voice when she continued. "We came here to get away from not just my friends but because of how he wanted payment..." There was a hitch to her sigh as she turned her face away, though she tried to fight back the emotion of the memory.

Natalie sat up and wrapped her arms around her legs. She rested the side of her face on her knees and looked at Anna.. "It's sounds to me, like your mother needs your support more than ever..." She smiled softly. "But not only your mother. I personally think that you both need each other to get through things," she said.

She turned to look at Natlie with something akin to shock. How could this girl say that? She didn't need her mother for anything! Opening her mouth to respond she found that no words would come. Anna got to her feet, grabbed the board beside her and headed out into the water. She had to do it quickly, and let the ocean merge with the salt of the tears she refused to let the world see.

Natalie watched as Anna went out into the water, a sad look on her face. She didn't make any move to follow her and assumed she just needed time to herself to deal with any demons that were raging inside of her. Natalie scoffed at the thought. If anything had a demon it as the eternally d**ned.

It took her a while to get control of her feelings. Long enough that she was completely exhausted. She lay on the board and let the surf carry her back to the shore. Climbing out of the water, Anna glanced at the sky and judged the day drawing to a close. "Sorry about that, Nat. I just need to vent off some steam."

Natalie watched Anna, and then followed the action at looking at the sky. They should probably be leaving soon. She smiled sweetly at Anna. "That's fine, Anna. I'm sure we all need to let loose some stress once and a while." she stood up and motioned toward her car with a hand wave and smiled. "Shall we?" she asked.

Anna nodded and gathered up her belongings. Shucking out of the wetsuit she pulled on her clothes and then fished out a hair bankd from her purse tying back her wet hair. "Thanks, Natalie. It's been a long time since I have had fun like this."

Natalie removed her wet suit like Natalie, and then re clothed herself. She was in the driver's seat when Anna spoke, and Natalie gave a wide grinned smile. "I feel the same way," she said, meaning every word. Her daily entertainment had been chasing deer through the woods. It got boring after a while, and surfing beat it by a land slide.

Getting into the car she offered a smile. "So? Same bat time same bat channel for tomorrow?" She had been quite serious when she said that she would gladly spend the rest of her life on the beach.

Natalie smiled. "Of course!", she said, starting up the engine. Her nose wrinkled. "Even though it stinks like crap, I'll be glad to come back here," she said and pulled out of the parking lot and onto the main road.
