Anna glared at her mother as they pulled up in front of the school. She sat there looking at the building, not wanting to stay in the car but not wanting to get out either.
"Don't worry, Anna. You'll make new friends." Her mother tried to placate her, fighting not to reach out and touch her untouchable daughter. What had happened to the sweet, laughing child she had been?
"Yeah, mom, right. I had friends in Miami. But YOU took me away from them. Don't bother picking me up, I'll either hitchhike or walk. Maybe I'll find a serial killer along the way." Without another word she got out of the car and slammed the door behind her.
Taking a deep breath she headed towards the office, arms crossed over her chest, looking down at her feet as she walked.

Natalie walked from her car, and up to the school, book bag slung over her arm. She saw dark haired girl walking toward the office, and veered in her direction.
"Hello!" she smiled, popping up behind her. "I haven't seen you around here. Are you new?" she asked, holding the office door open for her.

Not expecting anyone to even look at her let along speak to her, she was so startled she spun around, her handbag falling off her shoulder onto the ground. Her brows furrowed as she glances at the girl. "No, I'm not new. I'm just a figment of your over active imagination."
Grabbing up her purse she moved into the office, offering a curt nod at the girl who held the door for her muttering. "I miss Miami."

Natalie giggled at her comment. "I doubt it, I'm not that imaginative," she said. She knew the girl was using sarcasm, but playing along seemed like a better idea than getting mad.
"I miss Miami." she heard the girl say, and Natalie gave a sad smile. So the girl was home sick. She could understand, in a way. Forks wasn't the most exciting place in town, to humans, that is.
"So, what's your name?" she asked the girl, following her into the office. "I'm Natalie, but you can call me Nat." she said with a smile, holding out her cold hand in a hand shake.

With another frown and a slight shake her head she took the other girls hand. "Yeah, Nat. I'm Anna, you can call me Anna."
She pulled her hand back as quickly as she could from that cold grasp. "Need mittens?"
About that time the woman behind the counter noticed her and she was able to get her schedule. Turning back, schedule in hand she sighed. And so would being the next level of Dante's hell.

"Nice to meet you, Anna." she said, smiling widely. "No, Mittens are not necessary for me. You get used to the cold when you live in this kind of weather for so long," she lied, an honest smile still plastered on her face.
"So, what class do you have?" she asked, following Anna.

She tried to suppress a groan. Not used to such insistent people. So thinking it would be to just play along for a while, at least until her next class she sighed a bit. "AP English."
Her green eyes looked to the other girl, meeting hers for the first time. "Is school here as crappy as it is everywhere else? And does it ever quit raining!?" She was already missing the beach, and the strange people that inhabited Miami Beach. She missed the thrill of danager she and her friends experienced every time the skipped school and went to downtown Miami. Most of all she missed...well it's not like it mattered she thought to herself as she pictured a pair of dazzling blue eyes. She sighed again, lost to her daydreams, she didn't even realize she had just stopped walking right in the middle of the hallway.

Cory was changing classes when he rounded the corner and nearly ran into her. He quickly adjusted course and stopped
"sorry didn't see you there miss"
He continued down the hall ahead of her

Natalie smiled, "Great! That's my next class, too." she said cheerfully.
"Well, all school is crappy." she said with a trilling laugh, "But I'm afraid it hardly ever stops raining here, but when it does, most kids just skip school." she said. And most of those kids are the eternally d**ned, she finished mentally, laughing to herself.
Natalie hooked her arm in Anna's and continued walking toward their next class. "So, what did you used to do in Miami?" she asked, "Perhaps I can help you find something just as fun."

She glanced at the boy who nearing ran her down and barely bit back a biting comment, but seeing as it had been she who had stopped dead in the middle of the hallway there wasn't much she could say. She watched him a moment and started slightly as the other girl hooked her arm. She just wasn't used to people touching her!
"Umm...skipped school mostly, headed to the beach or the mall. Hung out with my friends, got blasted..the usual. Mostly we used to go downtown and pick on the bums. Got busted by the truencey police one too many times and went to juvie for a few weeks. Mom got some fancy lawyer to get me out and here we are." She offerd a sarcastically bright smile. "In beautiful Forks, where the sun never shines and everyone knows your name!" She suddenly shut up. She didn't know why she had just shared all that information, it wasn't in her nature.
She heaved a heavy sigh and shook her head, wondering for about the millionth time why could she just get run over by a semi?

Natalie was shocked. "A delinquent, are we?" she said with a small smile, "Well, I usually don't get a high off of doing bad things... but there are some fun stuff I could show you, If you would be willing." she said, her smile growing into a wider one. "I'm sure you will love some of the things I do for fun," she said, a small twinkle giving away her excitement.
They made it to the small classroom, and Natalie opened the door and sat in one of the chairs in the back. She smiled brightly at Anna, and patted the seat next to her.

Shrugging a bit she moved over to sit by Natalie. She tried not to be, but she was intrigued. After a couple minutes of silence she leaned over and whispered, "What kind if fun?" Anna just had to have something to do and soon. There was no telling what sorts of trouble she could find on her own.

Natalie smiled. Hook, line, and sinker.
"Hmm. Do you like the beach? Or maybe we can take a hike through the woods?" She pondered for a moment, her hand on her chin. "If your not much of a nature person, we could always go down to Port Angelos, and do some shopping." Natalie had plenty of money to spend. It all kind of piled up when you had nothing to spend it on.

Anna let loose a little laugh, and glanced quickly up at the front of the room to make sure she didn't get called out. "Can we go now? I don't care where we go as long as it's not here!" School bored her to death. Even the AP classes didn't present much of a challenge. Who knows, she thought to herself, maybe Forks would be different. She doubted it, but maybe.
Instead of pulling out a notebook she pulled a much dog eared book from her purse. It was her favorite copy of "Guilty Pleasures" one of the Anita Blake, Vampire hunter series books. She had them all. In her most secret dreams she wanted a Jean Claude of her own.

Natalie pursed her lips, seemingly in deep thought. "Yeah, we can." she said, with a smile. This was her third time through high school, so missing a few days would definitely not hurt her career.
She looked over to Anna after putting her things into her bag conspicuously. After coming upon the author name and title, she let out a snort, and slapped her hand on her mouth to quiet her giggles.
"Is that your impression of vampires?" she said with a chuckle. The irony...
She raised her hand, and after being called on, she asked to use the restroom. She chuckled again. Why would she ever need to pee?
"Meet me out behind the school." she whispered quickly, too low for any other human to hear, and gathered her things. She flowed brusquely out the door, and headed for their now 'secret' meeting place.
