Natalie come out bransishing two surf boards, and a basket of food. Another bag hanging from her shoulder. She threw everything into the back seat, and jumped back into the driver's side.
"La Push here we come!" she said with a wide smile, and drove off, heading back toward the highway.

Yes, life was perfect! Out of school, heading to the beach, a new friend. And not just any new friend but a new friend with a car! "Tell me about you, Nat, now that I have blabbered away." It only seemed fair. "Are your folks going to come unglued when they find out ditched school?"

Natalie smiled. "Actually, I don't live with my parents." she said. "That apartment you saw belongs to Me, Myself, and I. My parents live in.." She waited one tenth of a second as she thought. "..New York. I came down to Forks to escape the big city." she said. She really should have figured out her story ahead of time.
"What else would you like to know?" she asked, going through a fake life in her head. One free of any flaws that a human would be able to decipher.

That announcement stunned her. "Your parents let you live by yourself? How did you manage that?" The thought of being free from her mom was a pipe dream that she had been holding onto with both hands since she was 12. She only had two more years before she was legally free. She only had 10,512,000 minutes left to go until freedom. Yeah she was counting down the minutes at this point.
"You got a boyfriend?" It was silly really to ask about something so trivial, but at 16 boys and fun were what made up Anna's life, at least that's what she wanted everyone to think.

Natalie just smiled. "I'm almost 18, so I can get away with living by myself. And no, no boyfriends for me. Go ahead hit me with another one," she said with a laugh.

Glancing over at the other girl she smirked. "Ummmm hell are we there yet?" For this time Miami was starting to seem like a distant dream. "I don't know just tell me about Forks, about the people. Small town life is something I don't know anything about." For the first time in her life she found herself wanting to fit in somewhere.

Natalie smiled. "Just a bit. Maybe ten more minutes." she then looked back to the road. "Well, small town living, I personally think, is much better than the big city. Even though there are barely any people, that allows you to get closer to them, and you will practically know everyone in town. I will warn you, don't tell any secrets to someone you don't trust, because by the end of the day, the whole town knows." she laughed, remembering when Jessica blabbered her mouth about Natalie not eating. "Anorexic," she had called her. If only he knew...
"But, mostly everyone in Forks is very kind. I'm fairly new here myself, but in the few weeks that I have been here, I've come to know most of the people in my area.
"Uhmm.." she said, thinking about something else to say about good ol' Forks. "Well, I've heard that the dinner sells on hell of a good peach cobbler, and that the fishing is great." she said with a laugh.

She groaned a bit at the recital of all of Fork's good points. "Are there any good clubs?" A dance club would be nice. She didn't expect to find anything as good as the Kitchen Club, but as long as there was good music playing she could deal. She sighed, turning her had to watch the scenery, her inner thoughts starting to churn with thoughts of a future.

Natalie laughed. "Clubs? Honey, This is Forks." she said simply, as if the word was the only answer she needed.
Nat pulled through the highway exit, and soon they were driving through the town. Natalie's brows furrowed as a rancid stench blew in her face. "Ugh! What is that?" she asked, covering her nose with one hand, the other on the steering wheel. It smelt like wet dog and vomit.
"Do you smell it?"

She inhaled deeply and shrugged. "I don't know, the air is a little off but I'm not smelling anything particularly bad." Maybe all the time she had spent in the city has ruined her sniffer. She glanced around looking to see what could be causing the smell that had Nat so uncomfortable. "Are there paper mills around here? When my mom and I were driving through Mississippi on our way here we could smell those mills miles before we got to them. Now THAT's a stench!"

Natalie shook her head, but knew what she was talking about. "No, it's worse than that," she said, turning onto the beach parking lot. "God, it smells like sh**." she laughed, plugging her nose with her thumb and forefinger.
Nat got out of the car once it was parked, and pulled the surf boards out from the back, holding one in each hand easily. "Red, or blue?" she asked, holding them up for Anna to pick.

She considered the boards a moment and then grinned pointing at her hair. "Red of course...I hope you brought a spare wet suit for me...." As much as she wanted to jump on the board and head out, the feeling that she wouldn't be stepping into water as warm as she was used to was a bit daunting. Well, even if there wasn't a spare suit she didn't care, what's the worst that could happen?

Natalie nodded and handed her the board. "Of course I packed an extra wet suit. I'm not that stupid, Anna," she said, shaking her head in mock horror. It was sort of hard to concentrate with the stench floating around here. There was absolutely no fresh air around, and she wouldn't be surprised if the paint on her car started to peel from the intensity of the smell. She really hoped not.
Natalie pulled out the wet suits, some towels, a plastic bag full of food, and some sunscreen for Anna. There may have not been much sun, but sun was still sun, and skin cancer was still skin cancer.

Laughing happily she looked around for a place to change. She really didn't see anyplace to go and seeing as they were the only ones currently on the beach she quickly stripped down her bra and underwear and started to shimmy into the wet suit, pausing long enough to grab a couple bandaides out of her purse and put them on some long narrow cuts on her upper thighs. "I can't wait to hit the water. I didn't think I would see another beach again!" Yeah...cause there couldn't be any beaches outside of Miami.
"Are their many rip currents around here?" It always paid to be cautious in a new place. She gave the sunscreen bottle a little wrinkle of her nose and then ignored it completely as she waited on Nat to get into her wet suit. Already the waves were calling.

Natalie smiled and followed Anna's action, stripping down and slipping on the wet suit. "I'm not sure," she said. "I doubt there are many, if there are." she said. She picked up her surfboard and looked to Anna, lifting her thumb and pinky and twisting her wrist. "Surf's up," she said with a laugh.
