Svet looked around, realizing he wasn't anywhere around anymore, but she could smell where he went off and she set off at a quick pace. The sound of a mountain lion caught her attention and she smiled faintly. She stayed back from the animal because she now heard Zane attack. She waited for a little more before she jumped up to a low branch, swinging like a monkey from tree to tree she closed the distance to him, furrowing her brow when she saw him talking on the phone. She hid herself behind the girth of a large oak and listened with a faint smile, hearing his 'father' on the phone. She had left her phone in her bag in his car, she hoped no one called her, because then when she got home she'd have to answer for not answering. She grinned at the irony. When the conversation was done, Svet swung around the tree and landed on the ground gracefully a few feet from him. "Can't remember my full name? I am highly offended by that." She said sticking her nose in the air and turned away from him.

He turned in a flash when he heard her drop to the ground and laughed softly. "Sorry, I'm horrible with Russian." Strolling up behind her, his belly full and his excuse accepted, he put a hand lightly on her shoulder to turn her around. "Besides..I thought you wanted me to call you Svet."
His eyes were golden now and his demeaner seemd more calm and relaxed than earlier. "So now whatta we do? You gonna drive us to your place?" He absolutely did not want to go back to the apartment just yet, Kaleb would have clients and he would have to listen to headphones.

"It's a name, just because its Russian doesn't mean anything." Svet reasoned, feigning a grin. She bit into her lip as he turned to look at her, the venom in her eyes had eaten away at the contacts she wore and now her eyes revealed the honey gold/blood red combination, since she had only recently given up humans. She looked down at her feet, feeling slightly ashamed at herself for looking into his pure golden ones. She gnawed on her lip with her perfect teeth for a moment.
"And why would you want to go there?" She asked, tilting her head slightly to the side with a small grin.

He grinned back as a single brow rose and he shrugged. "I dunno..surely there's more to do there than at my place. You got a room don't you? Maybe we could kick back? Play some xbox..something to relax a little..get to know each other?"
He bent his head and closed the distance until his forehead rested against hers. "Throw me a bone here...you're the most exciting thing about this place." His breath was warmer than usual given the large amount of mountain lion blood he had just ingested. The scent was coppery and sweet.

Svet did a show of thinking it over, shifting her weight, biting her lip, looking up at the sky, holding her chin with one hand. Then she cracked a smile. "Alright... I suggest we take the window, or we'll never get to my room--its on the top floor and everyone should be home. That house is the one place where my 'ability' doesn't seem to work." Svet rolled her eyes faintly.
His comment about being exciting touched her more than maybe it should have. She was used to just being one of the faces in the back ground, she was used to being the third of fifth wheel--or in her special case the thirteenth wheel--and having him call her exciting was...new and invigorating.
"Let's go then." She said with a smile racing off in the direction of the wonderful car. Svet thought back to their 'chase' and she grinned when she realized how far they had ran. She shrugged at the thought, miles meant nothing to her.

He laughed as he ran behind her, hot on her heels. It felt good to run even with all the cat's blood sloshing around inside. Nearing the car, he retrieved the keys and unlocked it before they arrived. Tossing the keys back to Svet, he did a "Duke Boy's" hood slide across the top of it and beat her to the seats. He was inside waiting when she opened the door. "Thought you were fast."
He watched her and waited for the car to start, full of questions.

Svet rolled her eyes as he kept up close behind her, she was full, more than she normally had. Her stomach wasn't used to being completely full with the warm grizzly blood and she felt extra bloated and sloshy. She caught the keys with another eye roll, sliding into the seat and putting the keys into the ignition she raised an eyebrow at him, if she didn't know him any better she would saw he was excited...or anxious. She looked ahead of her as she pulled a great U-turn, slinging dirt and grave she sped off down the poor road to the highway.

Excited yes. It only increased with the speed of the mustang. "So..window huh? Why are we avoiding your family? Ashamed of me?" He grinned. "They'll notice us..we smell like Bears and Mountain Lions. Don't you like them..your family I mean?" His thoughts turned to the blonde for only a moment. "Hey...does your cousin Emmett read minds like Edward does?"

Svet looked down at the steering wheel. "NO. I'm not avoiding all of them." She said, trying to keep her voice calm and level. "They're great, they really are. They gave me a home and love that I'd never really thought I'd ever find..." She trailed off looking out of her window, "I think if we went in through the window they would get the message to be patient...and let us go to them to talk. At least that is what I hope they will do." She said her grip tightened faintly on the wheel.
She snorted at his question. "Why? You weren't harboring thoughts of our dear Rosalie, where you?" She asked with a short laugh, the driveway was up ahead and she was getting nervous from the sounds reaching her ears it was a full house. "Brace yourself." She muttered, speaking more to herself than to him.

He laughed as he shook his head. "Only that she's hot...hey, I got eyes and I can't always control what the brain comes up with." He looked her over with a grin. "Good thing you ain't got no mind reader boyfriend..He'd probably skin me alive." He paused as the grin faded. "Uh...you..uh..don't have a mindreader boyfriend do you?" And then it dawned on him that she might not be single. "..or any kind of boyfriend for that matter?" He could only hope..but so far it had been a very good day..maybe the trend would continue.

Svet snorted. "No, he can't read minds." She said with a small smile pulling into the driveway she made the way up through the trees slowly, so the branches that were slightly over grown wouldn't scratch the paint. The smirk that was on her face turned into more of a painful one.
"Not really.." She trailed off with a small sigh. She stopped the car before the house came into view and she looked at him. "I'm never one for secrets, and since I can't read minds," a small smile escaped, "I hate it when people keep them from me." She told him with a now blank expression. "I had a human boyfriend roughly a hundred years ago. I drank from him by accident and I thought I killed him." She said, now unable to look into his pure eyes anymore she looked at her hands still on the steering wheel. "I met up with him, a few months ago." She said, her voice just above her breath now. "I thought I loved him..."
"But I don't. Not anymore." She kept her eyes closed now, allowing him time to drink it in and then perhaps be disgusted by her, or just ask her to get out so he could go home. She was sure either one would hurt the same.

He watched her and waited in silence, listening to her confessions. He was not at all disgusted nor did he want to leave. Instead, his brow furrowed and he asked the first thing that came to his mind "So..when you drank from him..you turned him and did not know? He never told you and you thought he was dead all these years?" Zane shook his head. "Man, what a bastard, where is he now? does he know how you feel?" Despite her guilt, the thought of her slipping and drinking from humans never crossed his mind. How could he blame her for that. Just because it had been a few months for him, didn't mean he was innocent.

Her eyes snapped open when he spoke, she was utterly shocked and could only look at him for a while. "He-he--" She started, she stopped. "I left him in the middle of his junior year of high school a vampire, without any knowledge what he was, and you are calling him the bastard?" She shook her head at that and laughed without humor.
"Yes he knows how I feel. He some what lives here too." She bit her lip, "He went on a hunting trip a couple days ago and no one has heard from him." She looked back down at her hands. "I stopped wearing the ring a week ago."

He heard everything she had said and even understood why she was surprised at his berating of the guy. But all of that faded in the background when she said those two little bitty words. "The.....ring?" She's freaking engaged!!!?? He looked to her in disbelief, his eyes blinking several times. "You're...freaking engaged?" He shook his head. "I mean..were..I guess when you took the ring off it meant that he was out of luck?..and now he's missing?" He ran a hand through his dark blond hair still a little shocked. "Woah..heavy stuff." He looked back to her, concern now on his features. "Are you....are you ok? I mean...daaaaaaamn." He sighed long and hard. "I'm sorry Svet. That must be difficult for you."

She locked the muscles in her hands so she didn't break his steering wheel, she instead curled her toes under her feet in her converse painfully, it was almost the same. She bit into her lips as he confirmed her fear, he certainly caught onto those two words.
"Yes--was. While he was gone I thought about him. A lot." She said, leaning her head back on the headrest. "And I came to the conclusion it was just as superficial as it had been when I was pretending to be human for him. It was the idea of having someone love me--pay attention to me--I never should have gone along with it, it was stupid and self-indulgent." She shook her head and looked at him again, she honestly felt a little better, but she was embarrassed for practically forcing all this on him--all this drama--but he needed to know, it would have been worse for him if it just slapped him in the face.
Svet sighed. "It was. But now... I moved on, I changed." Svet said thickly, more to herself. She sighed again. "I apologize for making you take that in so suddenly." She said sincerely. "Now on to the fun part." She said with a stiff nod, as if daring him to argue, she nudged the gas pedal and drove the rest of the way to the big white house. "My room is on the other side." She told him as she parked and shut off the engine. She tossed him his keys and slung her bag over her shoulder as she got out.
