"Zane, can you come in here please?" Kaleb looked around the pristine office and frowend at the scattering of cords, CD's and a black and red Ipod that were now littering the black leather couch that sat in the waiting area. "Yeah?" Zane paused in the doorway beside him. "The door opens in an hour, can you do something with your electronics?"
Kaleb watched as the young vampire rolled his eyes before sliding to the sofa and gathering up the mess. Sometimes he wondered if this was ever going to work. Zane had been with Kaleb for almost ten years but still the boy acted all of his age of death. He wondered if Zane would ever mature mentally past the age of seventeen. Carslile had assured him that Zane would eventually come into his own and adapt to a vegetarian lifestyle. So far things had gone well in that department. It was the matruring aspect in which Kaleb had doubts.
As Zane walked past him again with the objects in hand, Kaleb took the opportunity to snatch the boys cap and turn the bill back to the front. "We are not gangsters..nor are we disrespectful." Kaleb's accent had changed slightly during the long stay in London and now, on top of a refined gentleman's southern accent, his voice also held a slightly british tone. None of that effected Zane. The boy's accent was pure south Georgia. Savannah would always be Zane's home and he would forever begrudge Kaleb for bringing him to live in the rain forrest.
Zane said nothing as he dissappeared up the staircase that led to the Hudson's living quarters above the law firm. Kaleb sighed. Perhaps the first day of school would go well for the boy. Zane needed new frieds..besides the Cullens.

Zane put his things on his perfectly made bed and scanned his once baby blue eyes around the room. Comfortable enough, Kaleb always spared no expense. He should be thankful to be so fortuante to have the chance to live a normal almost human life. "Yeah, if most humans are multi-millionaire vampires who live in the wettest town on Earth." He mumbled his words under his breath but knew that Kaleb probably heard them anyway. He had never met anyone as talented with people and his abilities as Kaleb..well, not until Kaleb introduced him to Carlisle and the rest of the Cullens. Too bad the chicks were already taken, and by vampires he was sure could rip him to shreds. Alice was absolutely adorable but her guy...what was his name? Jasper? Zane was quite sure there was more to that one than met his dark eyes. And Emmett? The one with the knock dead blonde on his arm? He was positive beyond all reason that the big guy would tear his arms off and beat him with his own limbs if he so much as even looked at hottie the wrong way. Then...there was Bella. A newer vampire than himself but way controlled..and way way married to Edward. Bummer.
Zane sighed as he threw himself back onto the black comforter. Why did Kaleb believe that Forks would be any different? Hell, if he couldn't make friends in Savannah, what on earth made the man think that things would be different in this podunk town...all the vampy hotties were taken. A thought shot through his brain so fast it caused him to sit up and take a deep breath. What if there were other vampires here..surely there would be.
He moved to his closet for clean clothes. He'd give Forks highschool a chance. That at least would make Kaleb happy for now.

Svet felt like beating her head against the wall. Again. She decided to go back to school with Nakuro and Rain, to be nice and because she was tired of playing Halo over and over again. She was level 59 and it was getting pretty boring. Guys all over the world kept challenging her, and Emmett was such a sore loser. Svet shook her head slightly as she leaned against her bed. It would most certainly be a long year.
She rubbed the insides of her eyes even though the action didn't bring her any comfort. Her tear ducts hadn't worked for several hundred years but at about this time at night her eyes always felt tired. She closed them, even though she could see the spider veins of her lids she let her eyes roll into the back of her head as she waited for the morning to start so she could at least get out of this huge house without feeling completely stupid.
Hours later the alarm went off and she jumped up from the bed and grabbed the top few clothes in her dresser and pulled on the tank top, band shirt and dirty wash jeans and slid into her boots. She sprang out of the window, landing on a rock with only chipping the edge of it she strolled through the woods to the high school. It was a well known fact that Svet was by far the spaciest and weirdest of the Cullen familly--the newest addition in fact, for she was Carlisle cousins child, who had recently died in Russia and Carlisle was her only family. So here she was. Stuck.
Again.
The high school appeared several hundred yards in front of her and the short brunette steeled herself of any dark thoughts and forced her chipper attitude and smile to the forefront of her mind and worked on her posture, making herself seem more human as she walked. It was such a boring power--what vampire wanted to look and smell almost like a human? It took the Cullen's weeks to even discover her presence, and even standing next to their gorgeous self, she felt human. It was so not cool.

Zane leaned against the hood of his mustang and watched the comings and goings of the Forks Highschool parking lot. Humans. He kept from rolling his eyes as he raised the hood on his sweatshirt. Even though the rain was light, it was enough to dampen his dark blond hair. Freaking rain.
The alarm on the Black GT beeped twice as he locked the doors and headed for the school, a back skull and crossbones back pack slung loosely over his shoulder. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea at all even though he had agreed with Kaleb that it was the best way to keep up appearances. He watched the girl as she passed, wondering just what band it might be she was sporting on her t-shirt. She seemed almost as miserable as he was...almost.
Reaching for the door, he held it open for her and lifted his chin slightly in a nod of geeting. At least he could be civil. Kaleb would be so proud.

The smell reached her before she picked out who it was. That was the one Alice was blabbering about a few weeks ago. She judged his posture from the corner of her eye as she walked across the parking lot towards the door. He didn't seem to notice her, which she wasn't surprised at. With an internal eye roll, she actually did notice he was looking at her--or her shirt actually and the odd shirt design that is The Used. Svet adverted her eyes to a boy that nearly ran into her side. She dodged backwards, the boy kept walking.
Svet hated being invisible, but things happen.
Mr. Vampire boy was in front of her now, and opened the door for her. A smirk crossed her face. She lifted her head up slightly in acknowledgment to his greeting. In passing she got another gust of his sweet vampire fragrance and she felt a chill run up her spine. She needed to get out more. The Cullen's familiar woodsy scent had her giddy at this boy? He was so young and from what Edward had revealed he really was a punk.
But that could be fun, she reminded herself. She stopped walking as she turned to smile at him. "You're Zane, right?" She asked, a finger pointed non-threateningly at his chest.

The Used. Ugh. Disturbed any day. He was surprised by her sudden stop and looked down at her finger which was poking him in the chest, stopping his forward momentum. Strong for such a little thing. He grinned up to her as it hit him. Not human. The grin spread as he heard his name cross her lips. "Uhh..yeah..Zane. But how.." d**n but it was obvious now to him. "You know the Cullens?" The scent was there but somehow hidden. How was it that she had virtually walked right into him without him even knowing. That could be a good talent 'round these parts. Especially with wolfies running in and out of the town.

Svet felt a smirk rise on her lips again as she realized he hadn't realized she wasn't a human. She felt another internal eye roll. Svet grinned up at him. "I live with them." She responded with a tiny smile. "I'm Svetlana." She said her voice echoing her Russian accent, her hand curled around behind her back as she weaved her fingers together. She was never into touching; boys or vampires. Especially boy vampires. She looked at him with a small smile. "I'll see you later." She said, knowing that since the school was so small she was bound to have a class with him. She turned on her heel and walked down the hallway to her first class. AP Chemistry.

He grinned and his head jerked in disbelief as he watched her walk away. No, not yet she wasn't. Having to sprint a little to catch up with her, he fell into step beside her and laughed slightly as he looked down to her level. "Hey...you live with them? I didn't know there were more..I mean..Svetlana huh? That's a weird name. Russian or something? Funny, you don't talk like a Russian." His own southern accent seemed to drag out the words but there was a spakle to his eye that had not been there earlier.

Svet pursed her lips up at the boy, narrowing her contact covered eyes at him. "Do you mean I must talk like dis, darlin'?" She drawled with a thick accent. She rolled her eyes. "Years in the states have led me to lose the accent." She rolled her eyes again at him. "You are a...Georgia Peach, I presume?" She asked up at him, her arms folded across her chest.
"And yes, there are more than just the eight--now anyway." She said with a small sigh. "But none of them are stuck here." She looked at him again. "You're 'old man' making you come here?" She asked, tried of talking about herself.

He laughed at her Russian impression but let the smile fade when she called him a peach. "Ain't no peach..that's for chicks. I'm a southern Gentleman, at least that's what my old man says we need to be. And yeah, he thinks its a good idea. It's my fourth time as a Highschool Junior though and it's getting a little redundant. My dad is the new lawyer in town..he knows Carlisle. So what brought you here? You related or something?"
He knew she had wanted to change the subject from herself but this was the first time in weeks he was actually interested in something.

Svet rolled her hand in the air as he corrected her. "Semantics, shmantics." She folded her hands behind her back again and looked up at him. "Just your forth?" She grinned, reaching up to ruffle his hair. "You're just a baby." She pursed her lips and grinned. She let her hand drop back down as she shot a glare at a passing student. She had to move out of the way again or the boy would have broken his glasses on her face. She fell back in step as she ran her hand through her hair.
"I needed a change of scenery. Soviet Russia was getting a bit... tense." She said holding her finger and thumb up pretty close together. She narrowed her eyes up at him, "What about you? Getting into trouble Down South?"

He laughed again as she ruffled his hair before noticing the evasive maneuvers. Zane turned and glared at the boy as well. He couldn't stand rudness..well..not that kind anyway. Shouting at the guys retreating back, he frowned. "Hey buddy watch it!"
Turning back to Svet he forced a laugh. "Soviet Russia..wow, you are old. Only trouble I've been in is the Italian Kind if you know what I mean. Kaleb had to barter with the old goats to let me go. I was almost ashes. Not the best place to be."

Svet watched him yell at the boy and she raised her eyebrow. "Gentlemen, huh?" She tried to hold in her laughter. "Anyway, that's not his fault. No one notices me." She said simply. "It's a....I wouldn't even call it a power, just a thing. It took the Cullen's months before they realized I was living nearby." Svet shrugged, shoving her hands in her pockets.
"I am old, peach. You going to make something of it?" She quirked an eyebrow at him. She laughed again, "I'm not surprised a punk like you would gain the attention of them." She made a face at the mention of that 'royal' family. "I ran in with them once." She shrugged, she realized they passed the building for her class. "I'll see you later, Zane." She punctuated with a wave of her fingers she slipped inside the building and into her seat in the back.

"Hey, far be it from me to make fun of someone's age...I dig older chicks." He grinned and then back tracked as she did. Looking up to the building number, he noted it before looking back to the closing door. He waved his fingers to her and whispered loudly. "See ya later?" It was too late. She had darted inside but he was sure she probably heard him.
Finding his way to the office was not difficult, the main building was smaller than the bathroom at his last school in Atlanta. He was sure to be extra charming to the ladies behind the counter and in the end, he had exactly what he wanted. Dropping Svet's name had helped..as well as the name of his Father. He and Kaleb had been in Forks all of three weeks and already the females were talking about the good looks of the towns new attorney. That warranted and eye roll and a sigh. With only a few minutes left in the class, Zane knocked lightly on the door to AP Chem and grinned widely to Svet who was sitting in the back unnoticed by all but him.

Svet thought her eyes might actually get stuck in the back of her head from the eye roll his comment caused her. Appearance wise he looked a year or two older than her, but a few hundred years difference can cause a world of difference, mentally. Svet tapped her pencil against her empty notebook, really keyed up over nothing wishing that this class get over before too long. AP classes weren't as big of a distraction as they used to be when she had to try. It had gotten boring, but she also felt almost alive as she relived high school and sometimes college over and over again. She watched without blinking as the clock counted down the minutes and seconds as the teacher droned on about their projects for the year. So close...
The door opened and nobody turned to look and Svet glanced at the door, seeing Zane standing there like the dork he was (he may just not know it yet, though). She glared playfully at him, "Stalking is a serious crime, you know." She told him in a quick tone, even if the people in the rest of the class knew she was there wouldn't have heard her.
