"Yeah, well, let's hope vampires don't feel ill towards good literature. Because then I might have to sharpen some stakes." she mumbled again, walking this time. She needed to get more excersize if she was planning on hanging with wolves anytime soon.
"So, have any idea how far we are from the...scene of crime?" Kerrigan said with a small smirk at her choice of words.

Roxy decided to leave and give Ted and Kerrigan so when Kerrigan wasn't looking she ran off and changed into her wolf form.

The thought of her leaned over a spinning wheel sharpening a metal stake was very comical and he stifled a laugh. He lifted his nose in the air and closed his eyes, preparing for the onslaught of smells and he took a deep breath.
The vampire stench made him double over and groan, but under the disgusting smell he could smell himself, Roxy, and Kerrigan. "Almost there." He said with a smile.

A confused expression took over Kerrigan's features when she saw Ted sniffing the air, but pushed it away immediately. Of course he had a sense of smell many times better than hers. He could probably sniff out a clove of garlic hidden among a room full of onions. She almost laughed at the thought but then stiffened. If he could tell the difference between scents...
"Are there anymore, you know....vampires around?" She asked in a whisper, as if her conversation could be overheard. She looked away from Ted and searched the forest with her eyes. "You would be able to smell them, right?"

"You think I would let you come back this way if there were?" Ted asked with a serious expression, "No, they left but their scent is still in the air. You're lucky you can't smell it. It stinks." He blew out his nose to get rid of the smell.
"We're almost back to where it all took place." Ted said, the smell of concentrated vampires was disgusting but then they made it through the trees. "Ok, where did you toss the book?"

Kerrigan blinked. It stunk? When she first met the female vampire she could smell her even from a few feet away. She thought she smelt wonderful.
"Ok, where did you toss the book?" Ted asked as they broke throught the trees. "Uhm.." Kerrigan said as she looked around the ground. "I'm not sure. Look for the black cover with 'Edgar Allan Poe' on the front." she said, kicking at a small pile of leaves.

Ted nodded, glancing around on the ground, smelling the air for the smell of plastic. He couldn't pick it up where he was so he turned back around and kept sniffing and looking with his eyes. She saw a cluster of white so he went to investigate, brushing some leaves out of the way he discovered the open pages of a book. He lifted the book up, seeing Edgar looking back at him he held it up for her to see. "Found it. There isn't that much damage to it." He said, some of the open pages were soggy but nothing was overly ruined.

Kerrigan skipped to his side and snatched the book out of his hands. She flipped through the pages, inspected the spine, and brushed away the dirt on the cover. Ted was right, it wasn't very damaged at all. Kerrigan gave a loud sigh of relief before closing the book carefully.
"Thanks." she said, turning to Ted and giving a half smile. It wasn't as hard as she thought, being nice.

"You're welcome." Ted said smiling. He stood up and stretched upwards. "Did you leave anything else so we won't have to come back?" He asked as he glanced around, the smell was more concentrated over here because of how close they were standing to where the vampires were. He felt a tremor go up his spine and he immediately stepped a little farther away from her.

Kerrigan shook her head and hugged her book to her chest as if she might drop it. "No, this is all I brought out here." she said. Ted stepped away from her and she raised an eyebrow, but decided to ignore his behavior. "Er," she continued, looking around. Wow, she was pathetic. She already forgot which way was north again. Everything looked the same to her. "Which way?"

Ted smiled, "It would be that way. You know moss really does grow on the north side of every tree." He said indicated to the soggy tree next to them. "And the sun always sets in the west, but then again that isn't something can go by here." Ted let out a small chuckle, "Well then, shall we again?"

Kerrigan nodded and headed in the direction Ted mentioned. She would have to remember the moss thing. It would come in handy. As they walked, Kerrigan noticed someone absent. She looked around, and even moved Ted slightly out of the way to see if she was behind him. Nothing.
"Hey," Kerrigan said, turning around to look behind her. "Where did, uh, Roxy? Yeah. Where is Roxy? I thought she was right behind us."

Ted smiled to himself as they walked back in the correct direction towards safety. He raised an eyebrow at her as she nudged him out of the way, he allowed her to move him and followed her gaze. "Oh. Roxy. I didn't think you didn't notice. She left a little while ago, turned and ran off." Ted said with a slightly laugh. "No telling where she went though."

Kerrigan's eyes widened. "Turned? You mean she exploded into a seven foot wolf, and I didn't notice?" she said, horror-struck that she had been so unobservant. So, she earned friends by being nice, but she lost her perceptiveness? That didn't seem very fair.

"Oh didn't do it right here or anything. She had to take her clothes off to change so she went maybe a hundred yards...that way." Ted said pointing to the place where she had left their group. "We have the tendency to not make noise when we move." Ted told her with a grin wondering why she was so worried about it.
