Alessia had been running for quite a while, searching for a good hunting place. Smelling a herd of deer nearby, she skidded silently to a stop. She pondered for a moment whether to go for the deer or keep running to find something else. She made a quick decision to go for the deer, who, from the sounds of it, were by a stream right through a thin layer of trees.
Silently Alessia crept up behind the deer. With one big, soundless leap she tackled the biggest buck almost effortlessly. She snapped his neck, killing him straight off before beginning to consume the warm liquid flowing from the bite mark she put in his neck. Once she was through she shoved the body aside, but remained on the ground. Alessia gazed up through the trees; she could only see a few stars twinkling between the branches high above her.
A memory hit Alessia out of the blue. It was a human memory, so it was muggy, but a memory that she had played over and over. The last night her sister Arianna and her had been together. They had laid in the park across the street from their apartment building, watching the sunset then continued to star-gaze as night fell, pointing out various shapes to each other, giggling over nothing. Alessia let out a sigh as quiet as breath. How she missed her sister; not to mention the rest of her family, all of whom were long dead. The question that constantly ran through Alessia's mind came again: Was Arianna a Vampire as well? All the signs pointed to it. Gone missing late one night... body never found. Just like Alessia herself.
'Then again, the police force in the early 1900's weren't really all too concerned with missing immigrant girls.' She reminded herself. 'It could have very well been a murder that just went unsolved.' Alessia dropped her head into her hands. Either way, her sister had lost her life in a terrible tragedy. Was Alessia a monster for hoping that her sister walked among her kind? She let out a low moan, too low for humans to hear although Alessia was positive there were no humans anywhere near her. Would these questions ever be answered?
