I shall state my side of my opinion(s) of all topics touched on this particular thread. Starting with the 'Emo' part. Yes, I agree that Edward is Emo, very much emo, because he hates being a vampire and he does not want Bella to be doomed to forever walk the world as everything else fades. Sure he wears designer sweaters and has bronze hair. He doesn't wear eyeliner or cut himself. You can very much be emo without looking like you live in Hot Topic. Emo is a state of mind, a life style, a clothing style, a music style, a fad, a scene. Emo is anything an 'emo' person makes it to be. I could be emo and wear pink tutus but still be emo. Because I am sure enough in my own--- anyway, where was I? Oh, Edward is most defiantly emo. Just not the stereotypical media portrayed emo. Full of win. No arguments here. Next, Stephenie's new species of 'vampires' were different than the conventional, but Armus, if you want to read about a new kind of vampire read Peeps, by Scott Westerfeld. I can see you like to analyze every little part of books you probably won't like it. That is just my opinion of what you would think of it any way. I liked it, it was a brand new and completely original form of new vampire that I hadn't seen in any other vampire story. =] Instead of offering up an argument, you attempt to divert my attention to another book of vampires you seem to think I'd dislike? And I didn't analyze any little details. There was a whole page in the meadow about how beautiful little Mr. Sparkles was. Sure, they are gary sues, but so what? This is just another point of over analyzing the Twilight Books. Bella meets the boy of her dreams, she doesn't see any flaws in. I don't see any flaws in my Boyfriend, Josh. Because I love him with all my heart, and I have the ability to look over any little dints or other things, all I see is the perfect man of my dreams. Like Bella, she doesn't see the flaws in Edward because she doesn't want to. And the reason why we don't know what Edwards or any one of the other Cullen's flaws are is because it is in Bella's point of view. Gary Stus and Mary Sues make boring, paper thin characters. Again, I did not over analyze. Its quite easy to tell a Gary Stu and a Mary sue. Point? Edward has no flaws. The fact of the matter is, you got over your boyfriend's flaws. Its not that you don't see them. You even said so yourself. You have the ability to look over any little dints or other things. Which is acknowledging his flaws and getting past them. Bella sees no flaws because there are none. And the paper thin story? Mr. Edward happens to love Bella because she smells good? Mr. and Mrs. Perfect live happily every after. Yey. Jubilations. And in her point of view. Ha. Point being? Edward is perfectly beautiful from the moment she sets eyes on him. From her point of view in the beginning of the book, she doesn't even know Edward...yet he still has no flaws. Her point of view does not matter. And the bit about being put into a movie bit. Eragon was an...interesting book. But I have had more interesting roleplays than that entire book. Sure I liked it, but nothing in it was really new. An ill fated romance. The entire future of an entire civilization resting on a teenagers shoulders. Yeah. Okay. Suuure. It was an interesting book to read, that's about it. And then the movie came and killed any more respect I had for the book. I mean...just uhg! And the Harry Potter books? Loved them! Every little detail put into those books made me love them even more, I have waited these past few years in anticipation to get my hands on the last book. And I loved it. The movies? I only watched each one once, because they just made me sick to my stomach. The movies were horrible compared to the books. They cut Peeves out of the ENTIRE movie series. Peeves and Fred and George made the fifth book, for me anyway. I hate the movies with a passion, but because I am a fan, I shall force myself to watch the last to movies, just to see how bad they mess them up. A similar situation as mine. I expect the same from the Twilight movie. My girlfriend, my cousin, and their friend are all excited to go see it together. But once they see it and come out, I predict a severe disappointment I'm going to have to hear about for days on end. Next point of topic. The Twilight books were not meant to be analyzed from every angle and looked into so deeply. Anything can be ruined by looking into it too deeply. That is also being emo, well better known as pessimist, and I am sure someone will scream at me about that, but I don't particularly care. That's my opinion. Anyway, sure the vampires come off as being perfect characters. You know how Mrs. Meyer wrote the books? They spun off on a dream she had about a perfect guy in a DREAM of hers. No wonder they came off as perfect. I really don't see that particular reason is you read the book and didn't like it. You read the book. You didn't like it. Move on and read another book to drown out the book you didn't like. That's what I do when I read a book I don't like. I build a bridge and get effing over it! No need to talk about a touchy subject to people who love the thing you hate/despise/or just really don't like. Its like preaching God to a Muslim. They won't listen, and will probably shoot you. Pessimism and being emo are entirely different. The two could go hand and hand, yet they don't always. I went into this book thinking "Oh, just a stupid romance book. I'll read a few chapters, tell my girlfriend I don't like it, and be done with it." I read the first five chapters...nothing happened. I read more and more, up to chapter 12. It appeared to have no particular plotline in any way other than the "romantic development" which is in every other book in existence that has its own plotline as well. And that dream? Well she wrote a book with boring characters then. Not my fault. Wow. She had a dream about a perfect guy, so that obviously justifies her boring characters in the book!!11!1oneone </sarcasm> And are you criticizing me for voicing my opinion? Isn't that exactly what you just did? If nobody ever voiced their opinion to somebody with a different one, we wouldn't have political parties. We wouldn't have debates, and we'd all agree to disagree and not do anything together. Its deconstructive not to argue or voice one's opinion. And who am I preaching to? I'm simply stating my points. Oh yes, and the reason why Edward and the other Cullen's were in high school was explained. By Edward I believe. I am not sure which book. But he said they did that every now and then out of shear boredom, just like how Emmett and Rosalie have gotten married 4 times. He also said that a few of them (I forget who) had gone through college in several different fields. Ah. Was this in Twilight, or another book? Perhaps I didn't analyze it as closely as you suppose I did. But again. Wow. Boredom. The absolute explanation for anything! Hm. Then again, I can't really argue this point without being pigheaded. What I would do were I bored would be different, but that is a matter of taste and changes with every person. No real argument here. So let's all just drop our shovels and step away from the big hole we are all digging, M'kay? So...that's my opinion. Scream at the computer screen at my ignorance or brilliance, I don't care. I apologize in advance, but I've got a symptom of OCD where I must argue everything, as it bothers me when people argue with me. I even keep arguing after I know I'm wrong, even though I can't be wrong here as its all an argument of opinion. Neither could you. Your opinion. Respected, but I still argue my point. I'm not angry when I argue, I actually enjoy it. I don't scream at the computer screen, and I was smiling the whole time while typing this. I hope you enjoyed the text wall.

Well you always change what chapter you have read up to so how the hell am I suppose to remember. Plus maybe if you might of read more instead of gave up you might of liked it and if you weren't judging it before you read it then yeah maybe you should because Josh kept saying he wasn't going to like it but look He liked it and he didn't judge a book by it's cover or by reading only 12 chapters. He read the whole book before he decided if he liked it or not. Maybe you should do that instead of saying its crappy before you finish it RICHARD JAMES RUSSELL that isn't a nice thing to say to your cousin. Just because you think your god doesn't mean you have to put other people down. Have you ever thought there was a REASON for her not wanting to date. Plus you have to remember that even if you have been dating Kristen over a year still doesn't mean you can be mean to everyone who doesn't have a boyfriend. I'm mean because I d**n well want to be mean. Not because I've been dating Kristen for a year. I can be mean. I am mean. I always have been and always will be. And I was also not being serious and didn't mean to cause offense. That whole bottom part of my post was a joke. I figured her post was a joke, so I could make a joke post myself. She questioned my sexuality, something I'm very comfortable with. So, I laughed at her post. I apologize again if you found my humor to be stale and/or offensive.

Well I suppose that's her problem then, isn't it? I said I was sorry, because I was and I didn't mean to offend her. But if she wants to be pissed off at me, it isn't my problem. I apologized and truly meant it, and that's all I can really do. So now she's just going to have to get over it.

Sorry doesn't cut it for what you said. So i doubt she would ever forgive you

All good points Armus. A true stubborn like I am. I can't disagree with anything you pointed out. I don't see the Cullen's as paper thin characters. I never do... The only real person in the books I didn't like were Jacob and Rosalie. They both annoyed the hell out of me.
I was also disappointed in the books lack of plotline, but as a amateur writer, I see how hard it is to stick to a solid plot line, especially with Twilight, I could just imagine where they could spin off in different directions completely different that the way it went. It probably would have been more interesting that way. *shrug* then again it could have been worse.
Ah, looking back and reflecting on the book, it wasn't great, but it was a good book and I enjoyed the series, and I await for the other books to come out so I can happily move on to another series. And then probably forget about Twilight like I seem to do with all the books I read. I am terribly forgetful like that.
Oh, and yes I did enjoy your text wall, as you put it, and have been smiling slightly and chuckling at parts, even while I was--am---whatever-- writing my reply. I find it quite fun to debate opinions of whatever. Because I tend to be on the other side of everyone else...
Oh yeah, and no I wasn't criticizing you, at least I didn't mean to. (I'm not so good with the typing and the words making sentences sometimes.) I simply (and I mean simply) meant that I don't really see the point of voicing such an opinion on this fansite. That part doesn't make sense to me. I would much prefer to voice my opinions with people who share the same(or close to the same) opinion as mine.... Does that make sense or did I just confuse every(any)one?
Did I forget anything? I don't think I did.... Oh well... Poke away.

Okay I have to agree with Alice Edward is a prep not emo, As much as he sounds emo he isn't emo's wear tight pants and band shirts stuff like that,Edward wears sweaters and stuff like that, Now If he didn't wear that clothing her does I would agree that he was emo but he isn't

The kind of clothing you wear does not mean you are emo or not. It is really a silly perspective to me, if people are arrogant enough to think so narrow-mindedly that just because you wear black and tight pants mean you are emo. IT DOES NOT FLIPPING MEAN THAT. Some of the most emo people I know are best friends with cheerleaders and act preppy.
The kind of clothing you wear does NOT mean you are emo. Edward is most defiantly emo, not he doesn't look the stereotypical cut my wrist and smear my eyeliner. So? Just because he doesn't wear black tighy clothing doesn't mean he isn't emo. Like I have said several times.

That is almost besides the point. Edward does not dress emo, he does not wear make up and listen to emo music. He doesn't cut himself and walk around depressed.
But he is still emo for the fact that he hates his life and he wishes to die, especially in the second book.

dear Armus, watever your problem is fix it yourself. we're not gonna keep on arugeing with someone as hard headed as you. if you dont like the book then y r u even in a twilight fansite? we all have different opinions. u told us y u hated the book and we simply defended our opinions. Thats enough. i like the book u dont end of story. there's no reason y u should come to a twilight fansite and trash the book. r u a boy or girl? cuz if ur a girl u have serious issues but if ur a guy im guessing u never have dates for being so insensitive (no offense). but seriuously u should just leave us to like the book in peace. no matter what u say we will still like the book and no matter what we say u will still not like the book end of story.

edward isnt emo in any way. yes he hates his life but only bcuz he doesnt want to suck people's blood or be tempted to kill humans. edward acts the way he does bcuz he is simply a vampire and he cant help that. if u guys r trashing the books so much then y even read it. if u didnt like the 1st part y read the rest of the series? if u guys have nothing else to do but to trash the books on this fansite then mayb u just need a hobby or something cuz ur life is abvously boring.
