But you have to take into account that this child, Nessie, had nearly killed the most important thing in his life. He'd fought hard for Bella, and everything was perfect; they were married and on a blissful honeymoon. He probably found it hard to bond with something that had nearly killed his only reason for living. I'm also sure that Stephenie never meant for it to be portrayed that Edward did not care for Nessie, after all he was willing to fight for her existence, along with Bella's and the rest of his families of course. Or maybe I'm wrong?

In some ways, I was dissapointed with Breaking Dawn. The ending was... horrible. It seems like she didn't want to finish it, and it comes out in the writing that way. The plot... was something like a fanfiction. I had to remind myself over and over again that this IS real. I was excited when They finally got married, but the whole pregnancy thing, took me for a turn in loving this book. Of course she would do something that BIG in the last book.
Nessie. How can I express what she means. It's Bellas tie to her human life. Then Nessie and Jacob. What was with that? Soulmates? Imprinting? Now Jacob is going to be in Bellas life, no matter what happens.
The Volturi. Of course they would come. But I wanted a fight, a real fight. Like Edward and Victoria.
She left this book, this series!, incomplete. This last book is trash, it didn't seem like Stephenie at all. I expected something darker, to follow the lead of the last two books. But it wasn't. IT was incomplete. That's the only way I can explain it.
I hated it.

This week in Entertainment Weekly, they had an article of Breaking Dawn, and it wasn't very nice. They gave the book a D when it came to the grading. This was the same magazine that had a ten page article about Stephenie, the books, and the movies. They had a few quotes from other sites, against the book. Someone said, it wasn't like the world she created. Everything we were told was impossible, happened. Such as a vampire having a child (which still doesn't seem possible) and a newborn having self-control. The people who liked Breaking Dawn would hate the article, but everyone else should read it.

But in Breaking Dawn (OMG, finished it this morning *sob*) it was mentioned repetitivly that those things shouldn't have been possible. Sorry, i'm jumping. Bella's pregnancy-it was explained why this was not known to happen, and why it did happen. Which I think was a good way of clearing it up. If this hadn't of been done, then this would have been an issue. Newborn Control-it was assumed that most newborns don't have the control Bella showed. But again, it was explained in the book that this was probably because Bella had so much preparation time, and for usual turnings this just doesn't happen.
Now on to my analisis. Although I lurved the book, all of the series, and I'm thouraghly dissappointed the series has come to an end (hense the previous sob) I was not thrilled with this last book. It had it's moments, thats without a doubt, and most of it was fine, but thats the problem. It was just fine. I was hoping for more, and reading the other books, rightly so. The end was the bit I was the least enthralled with. As others have said, it was just too neat. I was all prepared for the anhialation of the Cullens and friends in a big showndown. Even if violence was not allowed, it still could have been done. And although it sounds morbid, it would have been a brilliant wrap to the series. As it was, it was just too much of a happy ending. Sometimes, happy endings aren't the best fit. I don't know, maybe thats just me.
The Jacobs book was great. When I first reached it, I was dissappointed. I've never been in the least a favourite of our werewolve, sorry, shape-shifter. But I have to admit, by the end of Jacobs book, I was turned. And I also must admit, the somewhat violent birth of Renesmee (I like the name) had me crying and clenching my fists. But it was a good part of the book, and the way it was written really reflected Jacob.
Reading the previous posts, you were talking about how Edward wasn't really shown in much father daughter light. I think this may have just been because the book was from Bella's point of view, so the mother-daughter relationship was more prominent.
Anyway I have to go, or I'm not going to be allowed back on the computer for a week. Peace Out!

I wanted to edward to be more with nessie to be honest and it was a real let down that there was hardly anything ruining it, other than that it was good

I still uphold my hate against this book. It was a major let down. I'm a little peeved about their maturity level. In the first book Bella was just a regular teen, then in the span of like two years she's ready to be a mother, she's married, and she's a vampire? WTF! I don't like this at all. And that artical seems to have hit the nail on the head.
Stephenie let me down when she wrote this book. Why couldn't it be better written, like the host? Or even like Twilight? Is it becuase she was rushed?

That may of been it. It might also of been because there were so many loose ends to be tied up, in the span of only seven hundred pages. And even if I was a bit dissappointed with the book, she did tie everything up neatly. Because something I despise in a final book is loose ends. Anyone who has read the last Harry Potter book would have found that. I'm sorry, off track.

I think the book was lacking because it wasn't just about Edward & Bella as the other books have been. This one was all about Renesme really. I just started reading Twilight again and the feeling that it gives is so different than Breaking Dawn. The previous books make me anxious and excited beyond belief! The excitement between them...the electricity between them was missing this time around. It's like their love story was secondary to the baby. Don't get me wrong, I'm so glad they ended up together and will live happily ever after. It just lacked that magic the other books had.
I've read some articles about Stephanie Meyer's reaction to the book reviews. I'm sad for her. However, it's like she strayed from her original formula that worked so well. Ya know?

I believe the last HArry Potter book was the best one. Sure, there were loose ends, but Rowling tied 'em up neatly, and in a GREAT WAY! Stephenie didn't. Her work was sloppy and a large dissapointment!

Just saw this on mtv.com. I hope this link works! Stephanie explains a lot in the videos. Everything from the meaning of the book cover to the lack of love between Nessie & Edward. I think it's a great article/video. Enjoy! www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1592582/story.jhtml

Thanks for posting that! I answers a lot of questions, but it still doesn't change my mind any about the book. Hopefully Midnight Sun will be better!

I loved this book!!! At first I didn't like Book 2, Jacob, but as it continued I liked it more and more. His perspective was fresh, exciting, and just all around fun. I was VERY sad when Bella made the change into a Vampire though. Bella and Edward's romantic relationship was almost MORE fun when they weren't married because that anticipation of NOT getting what you really want was there, it was the chase that was fun for me between those two. All around when I read the last line of the whole book, I just about cried. The whole thing just rang in my head that Stephanie Meyer, FOR GOD KNOWS WHY, has decided to end the story on this note. It was noble but at the same time just made me sooooo sad.
