His genes. But if there were no vampires around, he wouldn't be a werewolf. That only happened because the Cullens were in Forks. None of the La Push guys would have turned if they hadn't moved back.

Oh... man...
Hard desicion, but... Edward, cause... well, you know... he's so... inhumanely beautiful! And he's cool.
Jacob, I like, cause he's a werewolf and a cool attitiude. I love him almost as much as Edward!

Jacob has his perks, but....I don't know. It might be that I've always been a vampire person, or it might be that Edwards old fashioned charm. Always wanted a guy like that. And english accents draw me right in =]
And also, only-me*TF, Edward hurt Bella majorly in New Moon.

I like both of them, they both have good and bad qualities... I love Edward because he seemes so perfect, innocent yet he is annoying in the sense he is... like he doesn't have emotions other than pain... I love Jacob too , but for all the wrong reasons.. he tries to kill bella aswell... so sad! I love the twilight series, but i think the film is going to wreck the whole image i have for all the characters....  |

idk y but i never really liked jacob much.

I loved twilight when I first read it and adored Edward as much as the next person but then New Moon came along and showed us something a little different and of course, through the course of the book you can't help but compare the 2 (Jacob vs Ed). Especially since Edward's not around for such a large portion of the book, you can't help but start to wonder. And wonder I did. Have you noticed how so much more human Jacob is compared to Edward? For starters he's so much more touchable than Ed; you know being all warm and masculine and not hard as marble and cold as ice. Also, he eats (as we have all noticed) - he enjoys food and it doesn’t taste like ashes to him, he sleeps and breathes and so even though both are considered inhuman, Jacob is much closer to humanity than Edward is. Also a good point that was brought up here is that without Jacob we don't know how Bella's mental state could have deteriorated (more than it already did); he was the one to save what was left of her after the departure of Edward. He was the one, basically, who brought her back to life. Plus the notion that was discussed here as well; about Edward seeming just a bit too perfect. His voice, his unearthly beauty.. It's all a bit too much. Besides, I don't know about Bella but I'd rather curl up at night next to a strong, muscular warm body than next to a pretty statue any given day  |

ok u guys can fight but everyone knows that edward is so the best !!! but i also see why some people like jacob cause edward was sort of a jerk when he left,,,but edward is stilll the awsomest!!!!!!!!

I guess I always liked Edward better, because we knew more about him then we did Jacob in the first book. And then when Edward left Bella, we learned so much about Jacob. And if it wasn't for Jacob, who knows what happen to Bella. well i see that but after the motorcycle thing i dont like jacob much eigther.....so i still like edward the best. |

Total mind-hurting love is not determined by body-warmth. It is by shear attraction. If you ever had a love so deep and pure as Bella and Edward's love, you wouldn't care what they looked like, smelled like, felt like. It wouldn't really matter.
Sure, on some level they would have to appeal to you, but that doesn't really touch the pure attraction you feel.
Now I'm not saying everyone else is wrong, but what Edward and Bella share is much, much, much stronger than anything Bella and Jacob could ever have. It was later revealed that the reason why she loved him was because he was destined to be her son-in-law and he was destined to love her as a mother-in-law.
In my own personal preference, I would enjoy having Edward (even though I pretty much already do, minus the vampire thing), because the love would literally last forever because he could turn me into a vampire. Unlike Jacob, because he is a werewolf, he does not have the gift to turn me into an ageless wolf-beast, so we could spend forever with him.
And then going strictly by the book, Edward Vs. Jacob, I would rather have Edward unless I imprinted with Jacob to avoid the Lead/Sam/Emily scenario because if that happened I would unhesitatingly kill myself. Edward's love is MUCH more trust worthy. Therefore I would feel safe with him, even if I made him angry or anything.

Actually
The reason he loved her because part of the person he was meant to be was "in" her
And so he felt drawn to Renesmee before she was born through Bella
Not because she was "meant to love him" as a mother-in-law
Because the part of her that was Renesmee, so to speak, was meant to be with Jacob

Jacob or Edward...hmmm...I dont think i could ever choose. They both are just too amazing. I dont know what I would do if I was in Bellas shoes. I could never choose one over the other! They both have characteristics I would look for. And right when I think I know who I' choose, the other one does something amazing for her  |
