;D ;DSUMMIT ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES TWILIGHT SEQUEL - NEW MOON
Los Angeles, CA November 22, 2008 — Summit Entertainment announced today that the studio is officially moving forward with the production of NEW MOON, the second installment of its filmed franchise TWILIGHT, the action-packed, modern day vampire love story. The movie will be based on the second novel in author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series titled, New Moon. The first movie in the TWILIGHT franchise, the self-titled TWILIGHT, arrived in theaters this weekend to sold-out showings.
Stephenie Meyer stated, "I don't think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment. I'm thrilled to have the chance to work with them again on NEW MOON."
Starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, TWILIGHT tells the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington to live with her father, and becomes drawn to Edward Cullen, a pale, mysterious classmate who seems determined to push her away. But neither can deny the attraction that pulls them together...even when Edward confides that he and his family are vampires. Their unorthodox romance puts her in physical danger when Edward's nemesis comes to town and sets his sights on Bella.
Just thought I should let others know since I am now stoked... Bet thats gonna be a sad movie. ALso btw this is directly from the stephanie meyer website.

Awesome! I haven't seen the first one yet and I'm currently reading New Moon for the first time (just over half-way finished) so I guess they'll be making all 4 then? And what about the book Stephanie Meyer is writing from Edwards perspective?

I think it's pretty awesome that they started making new moon. My boyfriend said that he doesn't want to read new moon because of what happens but he well go see it with me. ANd I hope they make a movie about all the books because that would rule

oh man im so excited for New Moon to come out to theaters. I am almost half way done with Breaking Dawn. This series is so amazing. I usually hate to read but these books are addicting. My boyfriends jealous because he says the book get more of my attention than he does. lol. I hope they make movies out of all the books.

Since they are making New Moon, and because Twilight was such a success in just the first week it was out, there really isn't a way they couldn't make the rest of them.

I agree with spider. They aren't going to make movies of half the series then all-of-a-sudden decide not to make all of them. They would have twilight fans biting them. And Stephenie Meyer wouldn't do that to her fans. Plus the fact that she's involved in the production and chances are she isn't going to let them mess it up like some other series have (namely Eragon and A Series of Unfortunate Events).

Yeah true, I didnt think of it that way. I was wondering though how she would let the director of the movie do that to her fans but I wasnt sure if she had a say.

She really doesn't have a say in the production to the movies, like she can't say 'you have to do it this way,' but she is more involved in the movie making process (I think) than J.K Rowling or Christopher Paolini was during the production of their books.
(Eragon and Harry Potter were some of the worst movies I had EVER seen)

Yeah. Harry Potter really irritated me cause they altered some of the things like the Durlsey's hair color and what not, which alone was irritating enough, but THEN J.K. Rowling altered the characters in the book to match the movie characters. I think it was very smart for Stephenie Meyer to finish the series before making the movie, now for them to not reveal anything in the future books lol. Which I doubt they will considering Kristen Stewart has only read the first one lol.

Unfortuantly unless new moon makes A LOT of money they probably won't make all of them. Also there is soo much drama going on with new moon we'll be lucky if its out on time = / Well lets hope for the best and hope that all of the original actors stay = / poor taylor lautner they are for sure dropping him.
